    On Monday, September 28, 2020, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Prince of the Eastern Region, will sponsor the "Environment Forum 2020 organized by the Asharqia Chamber represented by the Environment Committee under the slogan" Towards a sustainable healthy environment ", as it discusses a number of issues related to environmental health, And its concepts, and the emerging steps to preserve it.
    The Chairman of the Chamber's Board of Directors, Abdul-Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khaldi, appreciated the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, The Prince of the Eastern Province, for the forum, stressing that he praised His Highness’s keenness and constant follow-up to all the Chamber’s activities and programs and the activities of the private sector, as well as His Highness’s interest in all topics that It concerns the economy, society, and people in this honorable country, including the issue of environment and public health.
    Al-Khalidi explained that the forum, which is held (via direct visual communication), is another step and a new initiative within the orientations of the Asharqia Chamber to support the quality of public life stipulated in the Kingdom's Vision 2030, as this event reflects the Asharqia Chamber's keenness to deal with everything new in this vital topic Important, given the importance of the environment issue to public life, and economic life in particular.​

    ​Al-Khalidi said that the forum witnesses the participation of an elite group of experts and specialists in environmental issues, combating desertification, and wildlife preservation, among them official government officials concerned with this matter, adding that the Asharqia Chamber, when holding this event, is from humanitarian and national perspectives because the topic of the environment is one of the related topics. Importance, not only at the local level, but a global issue that is being discussed by governments, institutions, and international organizations, by virtue of its direct relationship to human health and life, so it was one of the most important topics discussed by the United Nations institutions, and the G20 summits (and the Kingdom is one of the group) the highest economy in the world​.
    ​In this regard, Al-Khalidi praised the interaction of all concerned government agencies and their keenness to actively participate in supporting the forum’s proposals, including The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture represented by its branch in the Eastern Province, as well as the General Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Protection, the National Center for Wildlife Development, and the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification.​
    In this regard, Chairman of the Environment Committee of the Asharqia Chamber Talal bin Sultan Al-Rasheed said that the forum, which will start its activities at 10:30 in the morning, will be held in three sessions, (an opening session, with two dialogue sessions), where the first dialogue session deals with the first axis, which is: "The role of systems And legislation on environmental sustainability, ”while the second axis (in the second session) deals with the issue of“ desertification and ways to combat it, and the enhancement of wildlife and its impact on preserving the environment, ”all based on the interconnectedness of the topics with each other, so the promotion of wildlife depends - in some of its aspects. To increase the green area and reduce desertification​.

    Based on that - according to the head of the Environment Committee - the forum discusses in the first session several topics under the title of the session, several topics, most notably: “Environmental legislation and its impact on environmental sustainability, environmental agreements at the international level, and the reality and prospects of environmental systems in their development in the Kingdom. And the impact of applying these regulations on the private sector, "with a focus on the impact of the Corona crisis on the environment sector in general.
    As for the second session, the forum deals with “the mechanisms and applications of the national environment strategy, the concept of desertification, the demonstration and the mechanisms of dealing with it,” in addition to “the Kingdom's experience in developing wildlife.” During this session, the CEO of the National Center for Wildlife Development, Dr. Mohamed bin Ali will speak Kurban, and the CEO of the National Center for Vegetation Development and Combating Desertification, Dr. Khaled Al-Abdullah Al-Abd Al-Qadir, and this session is chaired by the Coordinator of the Environmental Science Committee in the former Earth Sciences Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.​
